About Eva Kelades
Eva Kelades RPC, MPCP, CCPCPR
Eva Kelades is a Registered Professional Counsellor and Master Practitioner in Counselling Psychology with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association. She has over twenty years experience in providing empathetic and effective counselling as a community children and youth advisor, co-ordinator and also as a co-pastor in Christian counselling. She has been in private practice for the last seven years.
Eva takes an eclectic approach to her counselling, exercising various forms of therapy determined on a case by case basis. Various forms include but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Prescriptive Play Therapy and the use of numerous Sociometric Techniques. Eva has experience counselling in an array of circumstances, including; assisting children, adults and families in recovering from traumatic events, as wells as, coping with and/or overcoming anxiety, depression, shyness, obsessive compulsive disorder, and other maladaptive behaviors. Eva states, “I not only practice therapy, but I believe in my therapy and I am committed to the wellness process by walking with clients through life’s challenges with genuine empathy and confidential enthusiasm.”
She serves her community by volunteering with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia, supporting women who are transitioning from incarceration back into the community. Eva is also recognized as an accomplished speaker and presenter as she has created and conducted numerous workshops for children, teens and adults. In addition, Eva is currently completing a series of children’s books assisting children to feel safe and “normal” while dealing with traumatic events.
Eva serves as the National Director for the Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association.
Eva`s desire is to ``serve the wellness process`` enabling individuals and families to achieve their fullest potential while journeying through difficult obstacles of pain and loss.
