Supervision

Group supervision is available for members of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association. Supervision occurs the third Monday of each month for 90 minutes and is hosted on Zoom with Margo (M.P.C.C.-S.) for $50.00 per supervision session.

To inquire about supervision and register for the next meeting, contact Margo (margonorth@yahoo.com).

A minimum of 6 hours of supervision are required for R.P.C. members each calendar year, and must be provided by a member of the CPCA who has the qualified counselling supervisor endorsement or equivalent.

Supervision is required for all members of the CPCA before your membership is renewed each year, and must take place throughout the year to facilitate professional development and competency. You cannot get 6 hours of supervision in December and have all of your hours approved.

Supervision is required, but is also beneficial for all professionals to discuss their cases with other professionals to get feedback and direction for clients in difficult situations or when therapy gets stuck. Supervision is a requirement for our profession even when we are no longer candidates, as it helps us develop (along with our professional development training each year) and holds us accountable to our clients, the greater public, and ourselves.
